Dr. James Murphy - Rutgers University

Course Title: NJ Certified Fertilizer Applicator Update

Course Description:
NJ implemented a Certified Fertilizer Applicator regulation, along with application dates and formulation restrictions to all fertilizers commercially applied throughout NJ. This presentation will cover an overview of the legislation and showcase the online training venue to attain this new certification in NJ.

Jim's Bio
Jim (or Dr. Murphy, whichever you prefer) is the Extension Specialist in Turfgrass Management at Rutgers University in New Jersey, since 1991.

He received his M.S. and Ph.D. from Michigan State University.

He conducts extension and research programs on identifying best management practices for turfgrasses grown in the metropolitan region in and around New Jersey. His work often focuses on developing a better understanding of turfgrass response to soil-related stresses.

He has published numerous articles on turfgrass management and frequently speaks at turfgrass education conferences.
